Personal Satisfaction and Customer Satisfaction....2 sides of the same coin
















As we were baking Awin's cakes tonite, we realised that Mama's Cheesecake truly believes in one thing....that is 'Personal Satisfaction = Customer Satisfaction'...find out how we discovered this....

The 're-imaged' Chocolate Moist Cake is supposed to be 'shorter' or 'thinner'...or whatever it is called to denote the 'height' of the cake. This evolution was undertaken after taking into consideration our loyal customers' feedbacks and our own R&D where both mainly concludes that our Chocolate Moist Cake will have its 'signature' and will be enjoyed better when its size is in between a 'mudcake' and a 'brownie'.

We did a trial-bake and were very happy with the 'shorter'/'thinner' 're-imaged' cake. Then came the real-thing...Awin's order....a real customer with real perspectives. Immediately we got into the customer's shoes and what first came to our mind really surprised us.....we do not want to give her a cake that looks like the trial-bake!!! The cake was 'thin' that it did not look appetizing...and this is very important especially to a customer like Awin whom is 7-month pregnant!!

Immediately, hubby and I re-set the 'manufacturing strategy'. Our main driver was to make the cake 'thick' enough that it does not turn-off a customer at the first look (especially a pregnant customer!) and at the same time ensuring the 'thickness' does not defy the feedback given by our loyal customers previously. We were very lucky that just before midnight, the first cake that came out of the 'improved' manufacturing strategy, looked perfectly appetizing and tastes exquisitely delicious!! Hurray!!!


The 'improved' manufacturing strategy definitely meant putting in more ingredients and pushing up our cost base which means pushing down our margin. But are we too worried about this? No!! Why? Because we believe when we put quality ahead of all these numbers, the rest will settle on its own and most importantly the customer is satisfied. Are we satisfied? Definitely!!

BIG thank you to a dear fan!

This big 'THANK YOU' is dedicated to our dear friend Awin whom has been patiently waiting for her 2 choc moist cakes. Mama's Cheesecake has been quite busy during the school hols that Awin had to postpone here delivery for 1 week!!! Now that she is getting her choc cakes, she is bringing them 'balik kampung' and help promote the cakes there. Once again, THANKS Awin!!!

We hope with Awin's promotion, the Choc Moist Cake will have more fans :)

Tips to enjoy Mama's Cheesecake chocolate moist cake...better!

All these while, Mama's Cheesecake Chocolate Moist Cake has been served with our signature chocolate almond nib toppings. While many still enjoy this way of eating the cake, the more adventurous consumers are looking for alternative ways to enjoy the cake without sacrificing alot of the sensational taste. In fact, the more health-conscious consumers prefer the cake without the topping as its sweetness and creaminess is really an acquired taste. Realising that the cake without the topping still tastes as good, Mama's Cheesecake now sells the cake in 'nude' i.e no topping ;) But if you still want the topping, just top-up RM10.

Here we share with you a few tips on how to enjoy Mama's Cheesecake Chocolate Moist Cake....without the chocolate topping:

@Heat it up:- I am never alone when making chocolate moist cake as my daughter and husband always wait for the cake to bake....even if it means sleeping at 1am in the morning! Why? They say the cake is best eaten when it is hot because the crust is as crispy as biscotti while the center is soft, creamy and smooth.

This is definitely something that you can do at home though it is not as 'fresh' as eating it right after the oven pops 'ting!!'. After cutting the cake to your desired size, you have two options on how to re-heat the cake:

Firstly, use the oven. Using a conventional oven, heat it up for 5 minutes at about 150'C. If you are using a microwave oven, though I am not a big fan of this technology, then you can use the 'auto re-heat' option but reduce the time to about 1 minute. The best indicator of whether the cake slice is hot enough is to gently press it with your finger. If it props up immediately, then it is just nice. If it is cold, then you need to heat it up a bit more. If it is hard, that means you have over-heated it and you might have accidentally 'created' a chocolate brownie ;)

Secondly, use the steamer. Place a slice of the cake on a heat-resistant plate. Steam it for about 5 minutes.

Out of the two options, I much prefer the latter as the steaming process actually adds moisture to the cake making it soft and melts in your mouth.

@Peanut butter:- The creamy and sticky texture of the peanut butter actually complements the moist, crispy and soft texture of the cake. Make sure you spread the peanut butter while the cake is still hot (after the re-heating process) as this will slightly melt the peanut butter and create an overall 'creamy' taste when eating your cake. You can use your favourite peanut butter flavor but my favourite so far is Lady's Choice peanut butter with chocolate rice.

When the cheesecakes were 'born' 20 years ago, we only served family and friends at tea parties and gatherings; middle of last year (2009), we went commercial but only took orders from individuals; this year (2010) we are bringing our cheesecakes to cafes and restaurants!!

With this phenomenal leap, Mama's Cheesecake wants to share the joy and happiness in making our cheesecakes with budding bakers out there. The arrangement is quite simple: Mama's Cheesecake will conduct a few training-cum-assessment sessions to ensure you qualify for the job. When you are ready to bake on your own, Mama's Cheesecake will deliver all ingredients to your home. Then you just need to bake and chill the cheesecakes as taught during training. Mama's Cheesecake will pick-up the finished product and you will earn your take immediately (Note: Terms and conditions of your earnings will be discussed via email upon you contacting us).

Why is Mama's Cheesecake's Blueberry Cheesecake a big hit with our customers?















Well, to start with, we have been making the cake since the past 20+ years. It's a skill tried, tested and perfected every time we bake it.

Natural ingredients...yuppp!!! this is the other reason why the taste of our cheesecake stays permanently in the minds of whomever eats it. Unlike many cheesecake recipes, we use 100% cream cheese and do not add flour nor cream in the mixture. Not only this gives our cheesecake the pure, creamy cheese flavor but it is also perfect for the health-conscious. So all weight-watchers out there, you don't need to feel guilty the next time you eat our cheesecake.

Our cheesecake is 100% HALAL as we do not use gelatin at all. This is definitely practical to be served in any function as everyone can eat it with no doubt. A 'delicious' way to celebrate the 1-Malaysia concept! :)

The only downside to our cheesecake is it's shelf-life. Because we only use natural ingredients and we do not add any preservatives, our cheesecake is best consumed within 7-10 days. Later than this, you can still eat it, just that it's texture is less fluffy.
